It's Summer - Stay Awhile!
There are plenty of things to do at Jervis Bay this December, so why not rent a stunning coastal property and explore the sights while you're here?
On Saturday, make yourself at home after the Husky and join us for the Husky Christmas Bash in the RSL Club from 6pm.
On Sunday, why not explore the Southern Reaches of Jervis Bay. Visit Hyams Beach, world famous for its 'Whitest sand in the world'. Drop in to Huskisson and experience the food and culture of the Huskisson Markets, or travel a little further afield and check out the Marine Rescue Ulladulla Wharf Markets.
Callala Beach is nestled on the shores of Jervis Bay, approximately 20 minutes from Nowra and a stones throw from both Canberra and Sydney. Nearby Callala Bay has a good sized shopping centre with an IGA and plenty of specialty stores.
Accommodation options in the immediate area include the Jervis Bay Tourist Park, along with a multitude of holiday homes available through websites such as Property One, making it the ideal holiday destination for families or groups of friends.
The bushland adjoining the local area is very popular with mountain bikers year-round, and contains the renowned mtb trails of Coondoo, Butterfly Track and The Superbowl.
Supporting Women in Mountain Biking
The Stevens Bikes Husky100 supports the development and encouragement of women into the sport of Mountain Biking.
The Husky100 course was designed as an achievable first step for all riders to 'cut their teeth' on the endurance riding scene. Whilst Endurance Riding, based on the distances involved, is a tough sport, the course at Husky is not overly technical nor hilly, making it the perfect event for those interested in giving endurance riding a go for the first time.
For the more experienced rider, the Husky100 still provides plenty of challenge. The profile of the course requires consistent effort as there is little respite by way of "down hill" sections where weary legs can be rested.
Elite Women at the Husky100 are treated no differently to their male counterparts, recognising that women not only train as hard as men, but possess the same level of competitiveness and skill, despite a generally smaller field. Equivalent prize pools are available for the Male & Female categories at the Husky100.
Women's Teams entered in the 2014 Husky100:
- Chocolate Foot Womens MTB Team.
Supporting Junior Development in Mountain Biking
Juniors riding "The Husky" will be able to compete in the Husky50 at a special "juniors" rate, aimed at encouraging more juniors to focus on and participate in the sport of Cross Country MTB'ing and Endurance XC.
Junior Teams entered in the 2014 Husky100:
- Dynamic Motivation Junior MTB Team.
